   "Tarun Mandal, Ph.D. is an Endowed Professor of Pharmacy at Xavier University of Louisiana, New Orleans. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Tennessee, Memphis and Adjunct Professor of Genetics & Gene Therapy at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans. He is a member of the Scientific and Medical Advisory Board of Method Consumer Product, San Francisco; CA. Dr. Mandal received his B. S. degree in Pharmacy and M.S. degree in Pharmaceutics/Industrial Pharmacy from Jadavpur University. He worked as a Formulation Scientist at Korbet (India) Pvt. Ltd. in the Solid and Liquid Products Division. He then joined the graduate program at Northeast Louisiana University and received his Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutics/Industrial Pharmacy in 1991. After graduation, he joined Xavier University of Louisiana as an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics. He was promoted to Associate Professor (tenured) in 1997 and Professor in 2001. During the past several years, he has been actively working on the development of numerous formulations of pharmaceuticals. His research interests include controlled release technology and novel drug delivery. He has received several grants from various state and federal agencies including the National Institute of Health (NIH). He has an extensive record of peer-reviewed publications including original research papers in national and international journals. He is an experienced Expert Witness and litigation consultant for pharmaceutical industry and also Product/Science/Market consultant for Wall Street investors. He is a reviewer of several study sections of the NIH including Gene and Drug Delivery (GDD) and Delivery System and Nanotechnology (DSN). He is a member of the United States Pharmacopeial Convention (USP). He is also a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the Controlled Release Society. In addition to being a reviewer to several reputed pharmaceutical journals such as Pharmaceutical Research, Journal of Controlled Release, Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomacromolecule, and International Journal of Pharmaceutics, he has served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, and Pharmacy and Pharmacology Communications. He was a member of the Panel of Evaluators for Current Drugs Ltd., London, UK, where he has published reviews on Investigational Drugs."
